PISCATAWAY, N.J. – SKWC fans can watch Rutgers wrestlers compete at the 2023 Ken Kraft Midlands Championships on Friday and Saturday at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The event is not an official date on the Scarlet Knights’ 2023-24 competition calendar.
No. 13 Brian Soldano (184), No. 23 Andrew Clark (157), No. 26 Dylan Shawver (133), Michael Cetta (149), Anthony White (165) and John O’Donnell (HWT) will all compete attached. Max Hermes (133), Luke Gayer (165) and Shane Cartagena-Walsh (174) will also wrestle unattached.
Wrestling begins on Friday at 10:30 a.m. ET with the first two rounds on the championship side of the bracket and a round of wrestlebacks. Quarterfinals will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday will begin with the semifinals at noon, followed by the medal matches at 7:05 p.m. All matches will be streamed live on Big Ten Plus.
More than 40 programs will be represented at the tournament, including student-athletes from Big Ten programs in Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, and Wisconsin.
Ranked as high as No. 12 in the country, Rutgers returns to its dual schedule with matches at RV Penn on Saturday, January 6 in Philadelphia before it hosts Rider on Sunday, January 7 at Jersey Mike’s Arena.

11:00 a.m. – Third Session (8 Mats) – (Semis, consolation, 7th place match, women’s division begins)
6:05 p.m. – Fourth Session (4 Mats) – (1st, 3rd, 5th place matches–men’s and women’s divisions)
Awards ceremony to conclude at 9:00 p.m.
Midlands Hall of Fame Inductions will be prior to the final session
