The SKWC had one of our best weekends in some time. First, SKWC athlete, Sebastian Rivera won Gold at the Puerto Rican Nationals. Sebastian’s performance in his 4 matches was most impressive, he put up a combined 40-0 in points scored. In all his matches he was unscored upon, secured technical superiority and didn’t get taken out of the first period. He proved to be a class above the rest of the competition. His performance earns him a spot on the Puerto Rican National Team they will next compete in May 2022 at the Pan Am Championships in Chile. Sebastian said “I thought it was a good experience, meeting the team and talking more with the Puerto Rican Coaches. Our Team is looking tough, I’m excited to go to war with my brothers!” The team is comprised of former NCAA Champions Darian Cruz (Lehigh/LVAC) and Franklin Gomez (Michigan State/NLWC) along with Ethan (former SKWC athlete) and Evan Ramos. The SKWC looks forward to supporting Sebastian as he works to attain a lifelong goal of winning an Olympic Gold!
